After graduating from the Southern College of Optometry in 1977, opened his practice in Boothbay Maine. Thomas Nadeau served the professional boards of the Maine Optometric Association and as board President in 2001-2002. He was appointed to the Maine State Board Optometry by Governor Paul LePage. Being appointed to this board is the last thing on my professional agenda that I wanted to do,” Nadeau said. As a member of the State Board of Optometrists, he will have three primary roles. He served as Continuing Education Chairmen and lead board member of the Board's Repeal and Replace Legislation which passed in 2024. He served as Board President from 2000 to 2025.
